My online maths tutorials will work on a desktop computer, laptop or tablet. I don't recommend using a mobile phone as the screen size is too small to be effective. No software is required because I use an online whiteboard called BitPaper that uses an ordinary internet browser. Google Chrome is the most reliable browser to use, and BitPaper is free for students. Unless already built into your device, headphones with a built in microphone are also required.

For writing, I recommend using a graphics tablet, but they're not essential as a mouse will suffice. I encourage students to write for themselves on the whiteboard because it aids the learning process, but this isn't essential as I can do all the writing myself if needed. The graphics tablet I have is the Wacom 'One By Wacom'. They're relatively inexpensive (£48 at the time of writing in 2024) and enable students to write clearly and quickly. If using a tablet with a stylus pen (such as Microsoft Surface or iPad Pro) then they can be used instead.

A good stable broadband connection is also required. So if using wifi, a room close to the modem will help avoid any drop-outs.
